The scene of the crime

There is a place in the supernatural that more Christians are finally starting to understand and accept.  As more and more Believers are tapping into the power and authority they have in Christ, I am finding people open to the concept I want to cover today.  What is this concept?  Healing from past trauma utilizing the blood of Jesus and the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit.  With each week that goes by in the counseling office, I encounter more people open to allowing God to do what He does best. That is healing us up from every old wound, if we will allow Him.  God is the one who can go back in time and restore us in the present.

Here is an excerpt from my book, Journey to acceptance – spiritual release from food bondage, that explains this concept in more detail:
You may be asking yourself, “How can I pray a prayer asking the Lord to go back and touch areas that have already occurred?”  We have to understand that God is not in time.  We operate in time because He created the world to function using a system of hours, days, seasons, and so on.  He can go back in time to any place or situation that caused fear and remove that fear at its root.  Second Peter gives us a small glimpse of time from God’s perspective:

2 Peter 3:8 (NLT) “But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.”

Remember Rachel in our last chapter? Here is her testimony of prayer utilizing this concept, that helped her greatly in her battle against eating disorders:

I started seeing Donna for counseling to help me overcome my eating disorder. I had struggled with anorexia, bulimia, over-exercising, and overeating. One day I went to see Donna for counseling. She asked me to go back in my mind and try to remember the first time I displayed symptoms of an eating disorder. I remembered a time when I was in second grade. I woke up on a Saturday morning to find no breakfast. My mother struggled with depression and frequently slept late. I ate an entire bag of Doritos, peanut butter rolled in powdered sugar, and pop-tarts smothered in butter. I started to feel sick. I didn’t have to make myself throw up. My body just couldn’t process all of the junk I had eaten and I got sick and threw up. Donna explained to me that The Holy Spirit could go back in time and heal me of my past. On my way home, I prayed in my car that The Holy Spirit would go back in time to that morning and stop me from eating that garbage. In the spirit, I spoke to little Rachel and told her to go upstairs and wake mommy up so she could make me breakfast. I could see the small, adorable version of myself look at me and say, “But mommy is too tired to make me breakfast.” Just then, I saw Jesus standing next to little Rachel. He looked at her and said, “I will make you breakfast”. I could see Jesus put a plate of food in front of little Rachel. The plate contained eggs, toast, and hash browns. I cried in my car as I could feel the healing from my past catching up to my present. After that moment in my car with the Lord, I went into my house. No one was home. It smelled like eggs, toast, and hash browns in my apartment! The smell of breakfast was quite strong. It smelled as if someone was standing in my kitchen cooking right that very minute. I called my husband and asked him if he had cooked anything. He had no time to make breakfast before work and had only made a protein shake. No one had cooked the day before either as we ate leftovers. I dropped to my knees and cried thanking Jesus. I knew that he had prepared that meal for me in my past and he was showing me that the course of the past in my life had shifted. I learned that we can do this at any time. We can ask the Holy Spirit to move through time and change things. If we are healed in our past, we are healed in the present. I’m so grateful as believers, we possess this supernatural, life-changing tool! I am forever changed because God brought inner healing through His supernatural love.

Isn’t that amazing and awesome!  Mistakes, traumatic events from your past, and other sin-induced fears and hurts can be removed with the precious Blood of Jesus and the power of The Holy Spirit.  Those memories will no longer have unhealthy emotions tied to them.  You must acknowledge that the same resurrection power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is activated and available as a tool for your healing from the past.  You are a three-part being. You are physical body, soul, and spirit.  Your spirit is regenerated when you accept Jesus into your heart/life to be your Lord and Savior.  You still have issues in your soul and your body.  If this were not the case, the minute you got saved, you would be made perfectly whole and healed in all areas of your life.

Of course, this does not just apply to food issues, but to every life-interfering difficulty!  As you ask God to show you the open door to your food bondage (or any other bondage), take responsibility.  Allow Him to return to the scene of the crime.  Find that original open door where the enemy was allowed to come in and trip you up!  Confess, repent (turn from that behavior), apply the blood of Jesus to the open door, remove the sin and replace it with something healthy and holy.

Matthew 18:18

“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Take your time and press in with God regarding your past.  There is a reason why you are struggling with walls of protection around your heart and addictions that you can’t control on your own.  You weren’t meant to do this alone.  Reach out to your Maker and get started.

If you need coaching, I am here…….

Be blessed
